Indian Spice,Nerul

I have been visiting Indian Spice for a real long time, but this review is for my recent visit. Located like two building away from my home,it's like a favourite family dining restaurant. Perfect location and easily accessible are the two best qualities of this place.Since I shifted to Borivali, I hardly visit Nerul. This time I made sure I visit them.
I was absolutely astonished on my recent visit to this place. This place has an awesome makeover. It is reloaded with new ambiance & staff. Food has always been good here, but just that they have added new items on the Menu and have made it more happening.
I could not hold myself untill I ordered some food.

What we ordered:
Starters

1. Mushroom Kurkure: This is definitely a must try. Crisp fried mushroom filled with cheese.
2. Veg Manchow Soup: Perfect taste of the manchow soup, enjoyed every sip of it.
3. Shabnami Subz Seekh: Mixture of chopped vegetables, cooked in tandoor using tandoori masala.
4. Chicken Hakassan: The chicken was absolutely tender and succulent.

Main Course:
1.Shabz Kehkasan: Fresh vegetables, fresh anaardana & corn tossed in cumin seeds, whole red chilly in Kandhari gravy. Something new, but honestly didn't enjoy this vegetable so much.
2.Rara Chicken: Must try! Chicken cooked in onion gravy, mixed with kheema. Give your favourite butter chicken a skip & instead order Rara Chicken.
3. Butter Garlic Naan & Roti

The service is quick & the staff is friendly. They pay attention to your order & keep tab of what is needed. They also have a banquet facility available for small functions. Drinks are served here & bar is well decorated. This place is ideal for your dates, family dining, corpoarte meetings etc.

Godwa

Sometimes the boring meetings can lead to absolute hunger. Same thing happened to us yesterday. Just while me & my colleague were out from a meeting, we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. Just couple of blocks away we saw Godwa. This place is located at famous Babhai Naka of Borivali west, right next to Cafe Coffee Day. I have passed from this like many times, always thought shall visit. Finally visited them this time.

The place looks quite small from outside, but it is quite decent inside. The place is quiet clean and the service is quick. It serves Maharashtrian food and food items. The missal is available in different varieties i.e medium spicy, Kolhapuri( medium spicy), etc. The menu is interesting, it varies from snacks to lunch and dinner items. The service is quick & the rates are pocket friendly. They also serve sweets like peda, ukdiche modak, Puran poli, Mithai, Piyush etc.

Packet food items like chakli, chivda, puran poli, til poli, chutney etc is kept at the counter for sell. Which can be quite tempting to buy.

What we ordered!
1.Medium Spicy Missal : Really enjoyed the taste of missal here. The mixture was topped in good quantity and was fresh.
2. Amboli Chutney: Chutney was really yummy and the amboli was soft
3.Tea: The tea was not atall good. It was too milky and lacked flavour of tea powder.

Packed food Items: Til poli was crisp and good in taste. Lasun Chutney was fresh and tasted nice.

My take on the place:
Food: 3/5
Ambiance:3/5
Service:4/5
Price:3/5
Parking: street parking(own risk)

Definitely visiting them again!

Bungalow 9, Bandra

This place just made my Anniversary evening a little special. Every year for our wedding anniversary we often travel outside city, but this time due to workload we had no plans. We thought of going to a good dining place to celebrate, hence Bungalow 9 is what we choose. The best landmark to find the place is, next to Lilavati Hospital. Just keep going straight after hospital and on the left you will find this place.

We were here on a Friday evening; the place was not much crowded. Like the name says Bungalow 9 the restaurant is made up in a posh bungalow in Bandra. We were greeted by a restaurant hostess at the entrance and then she took us to our table. The ambiance of this place is simply superb. It will definitely make you fall in love with it. The place is divided in two sections, the lawn area and inside area. We choose to sit outside as we were linking the dim lights, water fall and hanging plants. Could not stop myself from admiring the place.

What we ordered:
 Drinks:
 Beer
Red Sangria: This was one of the best Sangria’s which I liked - So fresh.

Food: 1.Tacos with spicy vegetables, jalapeno, lime and cream, chicken: One of the finest Tacos I had in the long time. So yummy I could not stop drooling over it.
2.Smoked chicken, onion & Jalapeno Pizza

Dessert:
Jack Daniel's Whiskey Ice-Cream: Reading the name I just could not stop myself from ordering one.

The service is good and the staff is courteous. They serve a complimentary salad in the beginning before placing order, which also tasted good. They have Happy hours from Mon-Thur, 6:30 PM to 9:30PM.

My take on the place:
Food: 4.5/5
Ambiance:5/%
Service:4/5
Price:3/5
Parking: Valet available

It is indeed a romantic place and this place actually made our day special and we loved our dinner date here. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

Box 8-Malad

Though I have already eaten & tried food from BOX8,this review is specially for the complimentary meal I received from them.

BOX8 food is an unique concept of box meal which consists a combination of rice, roti, veggies etc. Though everything is mixed together the food is yet good to eat. BOX8 makes the boring food very interesting.

They have many outlets in Mumbai and are expanding big time. Few days back I received a mail from team BOX8 about the complimentary box to be sent for me. I decided to order the box for lunch and to coordinate I called Mr.Joy whose number was mentioned in the mail. I called up Mr.Joy and he assisted me with my order. He was full of energy and good at customer service. He also helped me in choosing the best meal box. He promised to get the order delivered in 30 minutes.

I was updated with my order status via sms and finally I received my order on time. The packaging was so nice and the food was well packed. The complimentary meal consisted of lunch box & dessert box.

I had called for a Chicken Overload Meal(rice base). It consisted of chicken gravy, rice, veggies, mushroom, corn etc. The quantity for their lunch boxes is huge, two people can share the meal comfortably.  I enjoyed my meal and could not Thank them enough for the complimentary meal.

Along with Box food their menu offers sandwich, rolls, wraps curries, desserts etc. Do

Few days later I get a call again from Mr.Joy and to my surprise he sends me a complimentary sweets and a Thank You card.

My take on the place:
Food: 4.5/5
Packaging:4/5
Delivery Time:4/5
Service:4/5
Price:3.5/5

So if you are tired of eating same food and need a change then call a meal from BOX8. Cheers!

Red Indian Sizzlers, Kandivali

Since the time I visited them, I just can't stop talking about this place. Located right on the S.V.Road in Kandivali, this place is easily accessible. The ambiance is like an old bunglow from Goan village. Soothing music playing in background. Waiters rushing table to table delivering orders. The atmosphere is so busy and lively.

Red Indian was on my wish list since long and I happened to visit them last Saturday. I called them at around 11:20 to check if I can visit them in next twenty minutes as all the restaurants take last order at 12. So the person on the phone asked me if I will surely  reach in twenty minutes. It's always safe to make reservations before visiting them as the place is always full.

We reached at 11:45PM and the manager asked me if it was me who called them sometime back. We easily got the table and we settled quickly.

My friend recommended that we try the cheesy nachos. So without even going through the menu we quickly called for nachos.
Along with Nachos we called for Peach & Lemon iced tea. The nachos were too good and the cheesy sauce was all over it. So creamy so cheesy.
Iced tea was so perfect, never miss on trying the Iced Tea here.

Sizzler Order:
We called for Red Indian Special Sizzler. It was a combination of garden fresh veggies, mushroom, baby corn, paneer & cheese. These sizzlers can easily give tough competition for the non veg starters. Sizzler tasted so good.

After the meal now it was time for some desserts. We called for sizzling brownie. Since we were four we thought of calling for one single and one double sizzling brownie. But trust me one double is enough amongst four after a heavy dinner. Sizzling brownie here is to die for and one of the speciality. Service is quick and staff is friendly. Restaurant manager whom we met here was friendly and possessed good knowledge about the hospitality industry.

My take on the place:
Food:4.5/5
Ambiance:3.5/5
Price:3/5
Service: 4/5
Parking:valet available

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and must say it was indeed a Siz Siz Sizzling Saturday!

Crave, Borivali

What a luxurious restaurant in club to chill right next door in Borivali? Are you serious? This was my reaction when a friend spoke to me of going to this place. We have been pacing by the Aquaria building and all we knew was it is a reaction club. The building obviously looks classy from outside. Bar is something that was in talk & was opened recently.

Since one of our friend holds a membership here, he had planned a meeting at Crave on last Sunday. It was basically a farewell party for our dear friend who was leaving for Dubai. This place is inside a club, so bookings need to be done well in advance. Rest of our friends were already here, me & my husband reached by around 8PM. We were absolutely blown after seeing their interiors as we entered inside.

The ambiance is so beautifully done and it looks so posh. Loved the lights and wall designs. The swimming pool is beautiful and clean. Best part is, it has a covered roof so the rains won't stop anyone from swimming. Outsiders can visit the pool, there is some minimum entry which needs to be paid. The gym which is available inside is the famous chain of Mickey Mehta's Gym. Only members allowed in the gym. Overall its is finest club.

Now coming to the exciting part of the Club, The bar.It  is so nicely done. Centrally placed bar counter with some chairs placed. Nice sofa sitting around the counter. A big screen to enjoy TV. We were watching the The Championships, Wimbledon 2015 here. They have some happy hours before 8 I guess, its like buy two get one free. We had ordered range of alcohol from cocktails, mocktails, whiskey, beer, vodka, breezer etc. They serve shots in test tubes, check the picture I uploaded. They have non alcoholic and alcohol shots.

For starters we ordered:

1. Paneer Pahadi Tikka: Tikka with an enticing flavour and the green chillies, mint and coriander.
2.Paneer Achari: Starter made with paneer and tangy and hot achari masala.
3.Fish Tikka:Cubes of fish marinated in hint of spices.
4.French Fries.Paneer was super fresh and fries were so crisp.

Main Course:

1. Chicken Pot Rice
2: Chicken Dum Biryani:
3: Butter Chicken
4. Paneer Tikka Masala
5. Veg Schezwan Fried Rice
6. Veg Alfredo Pasta
7. Butter Roti, Naan
8. Paneer Chilly

Honestly everything that we tried and ate here tasted so good. The quantity is huge and filling. The service is good and the staff is courteous. Price wise it is decent.

My take on the place:
Food: 4/5
Ambiance:5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Price:3/5
Parking: Floor parking available

I am in love with this place and I shall visit more often. Highly recommended to you guys, so please do visit!

Persia Darbar- Jogeshwari

Saturday night after an amazing dinner at one of the restaurant in Lokhandwala, we started craving for sweets. It was almost 12 in the midnight, where do we find sweets? A friend then suggested Persia Darbar will be open now and we can eat best desserts at this hour.

We just could not wait until we reached the restaurant. Surprisingly the place was open at 1 in the midnight. When we entered the restaurant we were astonished to see the place being almost full. The sitting arrangement was unique. There were individual tables set up with the curtains to close and enjoy your space.

What we ordered:
1. Caramel Custard: This was the best caramel custard I had ever.
2. Phirni: Phirni is a wonderful, creamy dessert made with ground rice combined with milk, cream, sugar and some saffron strands for flavoring. Loved the phirni which I ate here.
3. Rabdi: Served in earthen pot, so creamy and thick.

Service was slow and had to call the waiter again and again.

We spoke to manager and asked him that how come the place was open till so late? He mentioned being a Ramzan month its open till late and otherwise also its open till 2 midnight.

My take on the place:
Ambiance: 3/5
Food: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Service: 2/5
Parking: available

Visiting soon for some yummy desserts.
